Damien Hirst

Damien Hirst is one of the most influential and commercially successful contemporary artists of the past three decades. Emerging as a central figure of the Young British Artists movement in the late 1980s, he quickly became known for his radical approach to materials and concepts. His practice spans paintings, sculptures, installations, and large-scale projects, often confronting themes of life, death, and the value of art itself.
Among his best-known works are the Spot and Spin Paintings, collected by leading museums and private collectors worldwide, as well as his series of animals suspended in formaldehyde tanks, which redefined the limits of sculpture. Hirst has exhibited extensively, from the Venice Biennale to solo shows at the White Cube in London and the Fondation Cartier in Paris. His "Cherry Blossoms" series marked a celebrated return to painting, while his diamond-encrusted skull, For the Love of God, remains one of the most discussed works of the 21st century.
With works regularly commanding millions at auction and his career marked by both controversy and acclaim, Hirst continues to shape the discourse of contemporary art on a global stage.
